203K Loans Explained!
0As we have seen with several years of recessionary times, an abundance of homes offers buying opportunities for millions of Americans. Additionally, more than 100 million homes in the United States were built before 1990, many of which could benefit from renovation and modernization. The Charlotte Observer indicated that close to 50% of all homes sold last year in Mecklenburg County were distressed sales……
We offer a terrific loan porduct so that you can fix up a home as part of your purchase. The FHA Streamlined 203(k) renovation loan program provides funds for both the purchase and renovation of eligible homes packaged into one mortgage loan. Once the purchase of the home is closed, renovation funds are held in escrow to pay for pre-determined renovation work done by approved renovation contractors. As long as we have a contractor estimate, we can close a Streamline FHA 203K loan in as little as 2 weeks. Here’s a great video to lear more about the product:

North Carolina is now home to 100 wineries! This makes the state seventh in nation for production of my favorite fermented fruit juice! The state ranks 10th in grape production. We are definitely not Napa Valley yet but give it a few more years and you will be surprised how great the wine will be here in the Carolinas! The N.C. Wine and Grape Council says the wine and grape industry in the state accounts for 5,700 jobs and an economic impact of $813 million. North Carolina also ranks among the top five states in the country as a destination for culinary tourism, according to the U.S. Travel Association.

I recently came back from Seattle and really enjoyed my trip to the Emerald City. It’s a charming city full of fantastic attractions with outdoor markets and terrific museums. I might of also brought the rain back with me…..
One of the negative connotations about the Queen City was the lack of art exhibits and museums for its population. Well if you have walked down South Tryon in downtown Charlotte in the last 2 years, you may disagree! Just in the last 2 years, the city has created a full blown arts district with 3 major attractions - Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, and the 1,200-seat Knight Theater.
Great ready for #4! The Mint Museum will be holding its grand opening on Friday. Debt-free, the Mint’s new $60 million building expands its square footage by 60 percent compared with the Randolph Road site and the building on North Tryon that had held the Mint Museum of Craft + Design over the years. This will allow the Mint Museum to fulfill the museum’s ambitions of becoming internationally recognized.
Here’s the website to check out the museum and the grand opening activities! http://www.mintmuseum.org/
